Welcome
Welcome to the Nonlinear & Quantum Optics Group in the Department of Physics at the University of Miami.
We combine analytical theory, numerical modeling, and experiment to investigate fundamental questions in nonlinear dynamics, statistical physics, and quantum photonics. Our research explores how interactions, complexity, and topology shape the behavior of light, from solitons and thermalization to non-Hermitian and quantum photonic systems.
We investigate these questions across a range of photonic platforms, including multimode and multicore fibers, coupled waveguides and resonator arrays, nonlinear optical media, and topological photonic structures.
We welcome motivated undergraduate and graduate students and postdoctoral researchers interested in nonlinear and quantum optics, photonics, and theoretical, computational, or experimental research.
